Yunus commends Modi, Sharif for ceasefire, thanks Trump

Chief Adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus lauded Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif for agreeing to an immediate ceasefire and committing to diplomatic talks, marking a pivotal step toward de-escalation in South Asia.
In a statement released Saturday, Yunus also expressed gratitude to US President Donald Trump and Secretary of State Marco Rubio for their “effective mediation” in brokering the agreement.
“I sincerely commend Prime Ministers Modi and Sharif for their resolve to pursue peace through dialogue,” Yunus said.
“Bangladesh stands firmly with our neighbours, supporting their efforts to resolve differences diplomatically.”
Highlighting the role of US leadership, he added, “My deep appreciation goes to President Trump and Secretary Rubio for their crucial intervention.”
