Students protest against closure of German University Bangladesh

Students of German University Bangladesh in Gazipur have protested against the closure of the university indefinitely and demanded it be reopened.
They staged a demonstration and formed a human chain in front of the university at Telepara in Gazipur city on Friday, May 16, to press home their six-point demand.
Apart from reopening the university, other demands include appointment of vice-chancellor, pro vice-chancellor and treasurer permanently; establishment of permanent campus; and arrangement of adequate lab facilities.
The students also submitted a memorandum to the relevant authorities regarding the demands.
The university registrar announced a meeting with students on Friday, May 16, to discuss the demands.
But, the authorities on Thursday night, May 15, announced the closure of the university for an indefinite period, prompting the students to protest against the move.
